Teamwork

Teamwork is the project management platform Peter Coppinger and Daniel Mackey bootstrapped from Cork, Ireland in 2007 — initially as internal software for their own web agency. When clients started asking "what are you using to manage our projects?" they productized it and launched publicly. The company grew to $30M+ ARR and 300+ employees while remaining fully independent, making it one of the most successful bootstrapped SaaS companies to emerge from Europe. Teamwork differentiates by going deep on agency-specific workflows: client billing, time tracking baked into every task, retainer management, client-facing project portals where customers can see progress without internal chatter, and utilization reports showing which team members are over- or under-capacity. These features matter enormously to agencies but are ignored by general-purpose tools like Asana or Monday. Teamwork built a profitable, durable business by refusing to chase the enterprise market and staying focused on the 10-100 person agency niche.
