RunCloud

RunCloud is the server management panel bootstrapped from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2016. It provides a web dashboard for managing cloud VPS servers (DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, AWS, Hetzner) — provisioning Nginx virtual hosts, issuing SSL certificates, creating databases, deploying WordPress or PHP applications, and managing cron jobs — all without touching the command line. The company grew to $2M+ ARR with a small team by targeting non-expert developers and WordPress agencies that needed server control without needing to become Linux system administrators. RunCloud's one-click Git deployment (connect a GitHub repository, specify the branch, and every push automatically deploys to the server) became its most-loved feature among developers building PHP/Node.js applications. The server performance monitoring (CPU, RAM, disk usage displayed as real-time charts in the dashboard) and automated backups (daily backups to S3 or Backblaze B2) gave customers enough visibility and safety to self-host without fear. The Malaysian bootstrapping story showed that Southeast Asian founders could build globally competitive developer tools.
