Matt Giovanisci and Andrew Fiebert launched Lasso in 2019 after both had spent years running content sites monetized through affiliate marketing. Their frustration: managing hundreds of affiliate links across multiple posts was a nightmare. When a product went out of stock, was replaced, or changed its affiliate terms, you had to find and update every mention manually. Lasso centralized all affiliate link management: create a link once in Lasso, use it across your site with a custom display box, and update the URL in one place if it ever changes. The product added Amazon Associates integration with automatic disclosure, performance analytics by link and page, and broken link detection. Matt was already famous in the content site world from his YouTube channel Money Lab. Lasso spread virally through the content site and affiliate marketing community. Revenue grew to $50k+/month from thousands of content publishers. A product built by power users for power users — two affiliate marketers solving their own problem and discovering thousands of others had the same one.
