SavvyCal
Scheduling tool that respects both sides of the meeting.
Derrick Reimer co-founded Drip (email marketing) with Rob Walling in 2012, which was acquired by Leadpages for $7M in 2016. After the acquisition and a stint at the acquirer, Derrick left to build again. His insight for SavvyCal came from frustration with Calendly: the tool was designed entirely around the scheduler's convenience, ignoring the person trying to find time. SavvyCal introduced recipient-side calendar overlays — so the person booking could see their own calendar while choosing a slot. It launched in January 2021 with Product Hunt's #2 Product of the Month. Derrick built in public, sharing revenue, churn, and product decisions openly on Twitter. He crossed $20k MRR within a year, funding growth without outside investment. SavvyCal became a favorite of indie hackers and consultants who wanted a scheduling tool that felt respectful on both sides. Backed by a small TinySeed investment rather than traditional VC, it grew steadily with a tiny team.
